Reba's Welcome

I just removed some words from Reba from the side bar.  I can't bring myself to just delete them, so am posting them here instead.  I so miss my Reba Jane Rottenweiler and some days, like today, still find myself thinking she's in the truck waiting for me to come out of a store.  I guess in time this will pass... sigh.

Hi. Welcome to Reba's Run.

I am Reba Jane Rottenweiler, your hostess with the mostess. I'm real friendly so long as everyone is good and plays nice.

Just want to tell you.... all the pictures on this blog belong to my Mom 'Bean. Her name is Alice Price.

On the front door of our 'real home' my Mom 'Bean has a sign that says "Security by God. Always on the job. Assisted by Rottweiler". Rottweiler... that's me.

New Business

I recently started a new business designed to help people reduce or eliminate pain and to get healthier.  As well as purchasing business office supplies, I also have been purchasing some of the products for myself and so that I can demonstrate them to people that might be interested.  I have a Black Tipped AMWand and have some bracelets on order.  There was a great Christmas Special where they were selling 3 bracelets at a great price so I ordered them, 2 for me and 1 for a friend.  I also have a Silver Tipped AMWand on order for another gal.  I needed to order a certain number of dollars worth of product to become Platinum and start my business of with a bang, and I managed to do it, thanks to my  upline, Bruce.  He introduced me to the gal that wanted the Wand which I am giving her at my cost just to get what I needed to get the business off the ground in the way I wanted it to be, and he is taking the 3rd bracelet for his girlfriend.  I have lots of things to read, videos to watch, etc to learn about the products well enough to be good at telling people about them... they really work.

Still Here...

Whoof!! Thanks fur coming by to visit this old dog. I have not been feeling so well later and I think I have something that even vitamins won't help. I have a big huge lump on my left shoulder. It doesn't hurt but it feels 'weird' on there. I know that the 'life expectancy' of rottweilers in 8-12 years. I was born December 14, 1998 so that makes me just over 11 1/2 years old. Yup, I'm on the far end of my life expectancy and I've had a good, full life. Mom and some of our friends always thought I would outlive the expectancy, that I had a few years left here yet. I think that would have been right if it wasn't fur cancer. That has cut my life short.

Mom has been working to make a 'furever bed' fur my body to rest in fur eternity after my spirit leaves it and 'goes home'. I've watched her doing some of it and have gone and checked it out. So far it looks good, and it looks like a lot of work. You see, cuz of pain and such, Mom has let this place get real overgrown and so there are lots of weeds and thistles and burdocks and wild roses and spreading juniper that have to be cleared away. Mom now has enough cleared to be able to dig in the dirt to make my body's furever bed. Now she has to do lots of digging in hard ground. Dan said he'd come help Mom but hasn't done that yet and Mom wants to get it done.... just in case my time to leave comes soon. It gets real hot in the afternoon so she likes to do the work in the morning. Today she had to go to her TOPS meeting, then to visit Nan (her Mom). Tomorrow she has a Dr. appointment in the morning so can't work out there fur very long. She's going to be gone all day Saturday too. She better get this done real soon!!! I'm starting to hear God & the Angels calling me home and will have to go to them soon.

Dumb Guy

Mom had a date for this evening. She met this guy at work back in the '80s (whatever that means... I think it was long time before I was born anyway). The been kinda friends all those years and he's been looking and looking fur Mom. She gave up her land line so even if he thought to look in the phone book he wouldn't be able to phone her. He says he's been going to meat draws and auctions, places he knows she goes sometimes, looking fur her, even drove to the pool lots looking fur her truck. The other day she decided to phone him and he told her all this. He said he'd call her at 5pm today when he got off work and they'd go out. It's now 7:14 and no call. Mom is not impressed. She has now made other plans, to go out woof Wendy fur tea. She thinks that human growth hormone supplements are more exciting and intelligent than men that stand up a woman fur a date. If he calls her, now that he has her phone number, he better have a real good excuse or he's written off. NEXT!!!

I'm Still Here.

Hi everyone. I am still alive today!! In fact, I felt good enough to chase that silly cat today, so this shows I am holding my own here. Yes, it was a nasty thing what happened to me, Mom 'Bean thinks it was a heart attack, but I'm still here fur now and Mom won't let me suffer. She loves me too much to let that happen... and she believes 'life after death' is way better than life here on earth is, even though life on earth is great.

The other day Mom 'Bean took her drivers test on her trike motorcycle. When she got there, there was a young boy that was taking a test too, but maybe in a car, she's not sure. She told me he looked like he was a goalie fur a dart team and was doin' a good job cuz he had a real messed up face. All sores all over it. Sounds to me like he needs some best acne products. She saw him again when she got back from taking her test, about an hour later. She wondered if he passed his test like she did hers.

Every day you are still on this side of the grass is a good day. ARF.

What I like

Some of my dog friends really like playing woof their toys. I never have been much interested in that kind of thing. Mom has tried to get me to play woof balls and stuff like that and I have humored her a little bit, but mostly just can`t work up any enthusiasm fur the things. I just like to walk woof Mom, have her and some of my other human friends pet me, and of course, play woof my dog friends. I also like eating dog cookies. Go figure. Oh ya, I like ice cream too.

My Opinion

There are still no birth announcements, though Mom keeps hoping to one day see eggs in the bird nests followed in due time by baby birds. Over time though she has been realizing that she doesn`t really have time to be hand feeding and playing woof new babies of any kind. As much as she`d like to have grand birds she knows it`s best that neither of her mated bird pairs are producing. I personally think she should get rid of all critters except me and spend all her time petting and loving just me.

Just my opinion.

Summer Time

On hot sunny days when Mom takes me riding in my special box on her trike she said I will have an umbrella to keep me in shade whenever we park anywhere. She will park me in the shade of a tree or a building whenever she can too. When we ride down the road I will be 'in the wind' so will be as cool as can be on a hot summer day. She might even get me some kind of promotional umbrellas if she can pick it up cheep enough... our budget is tight. Whatever kind it is, it has to be able to somehow clamp onto the trike to keep it in place so it doesn`t fall down. She`s going to make me a nice, strong harness for tying me into the box so I will be safe when we`re driving, and put some foam in the box fur me to stand on to be cushioned when we bump.

Wish List

Whoof!! It's just under 6 months to Christmas now and this dog is workin' on her Wish List:
- Dog cookies.
- Harness to keep me safe in Mom's trike... never mind, I want that now, not in 6 months.
- A nice ball to re-gift to Brynx cuz I don't play ball.
- More dog cookies.
- document scanning software to give to Nan cuz I think she'd like it.
- A nice new brush fur Mom to use on me.
- Dog treats.
- Raw hamburgers.
- and lots more stuff.

Dreams Come True

Fur a long time now, Mom 'Bean has wanted to fix up our yard... to make it look pretty and to be more useful and functional fur her. She loves the idea of having an outdoor fireplace where she can sit and enjoy the flames on summer nights. She would like to cook on it and to invite friends over to enjoy it too. Things can get pretty dry around here during our Okanagan summers, so there are strict laws around fires and such. Mom plans to call and find out about these laws, but isn't sure where to call and keeps getting busy woof other things and furgetting to look into this. She would like to have a store bought one or a homemade one built out of bricks. I think it will be real nice to sit out in the yard woof Mom and maybe some of her/our friends while all the other critters are in the house and we are enjoying a nice fire. Yup.... we'll keep dreamin' cuz, as a nice charm our friend DJ gave Mom said... Dreams Come True!

In the meantime, Mom has a garden this year planted in some old bath tubs that people were going to throw away and Mom brought them home instead of them going to the dump. Mom always wanted raised bed gardens and finally she has 'em. Yup, another dream come true.

Mom's Hair

A woman that Mom used to know told her one time that if she takes some kind of prenate elite prenatal vitamins, it will help her hair to be healthier and to grow better. Mom decided to try it and not only did it not help at all, but the man at the store told her it wouldn't. I guess they might help to grow healthier babies, but not to grow healthier hair on a human. Mom takes good care to tie her hair up and have it under her lid (biker name fur helmet) so that it doesn't get damaged and tied in knots by blowing in the wind. She did that when riding on the back of other people's bikes, and now when riding her own trike. Her hair is naturally curly so it gets dried out and split real easy and she has to make sure she takes good care of it if she wants to keep it long and pretty.

Shedding

With the turn of the seasons and the weather finally warming up a bit, I am in full shed. Hey, it happens... I'm a dog. Mom can sweep the floor 10 times a day right now and still you will find black dog hair on the pale brown, almost blond, flooring. She said that her next dog will be a Golden Retriever cuz their hair won't show on her floors. Sheesh, what an insult, as if a GR could ever replace a Rottweiler! Shedding is actually one of those diets that work. You shed 10 pounds of old hair and you're suddenly 10 pounds lighter... arf, arf, arf.

"Hey Mom 'Bean... take me fur a ride on our trike and it will blow a lot of that old black hair out of my coat along the way then you won't have to sweep it up!"

Biker Dog!!

Wow!!!
You wouldn't believe what I did yesterday if I just told you, so I'm gonna
show you instead!!

~Click on the piktures fur a bigger view~

Mom had been working on the trike, her & Tuggy had to get the back brakes working right before he'd let her take the trike home. Once that was done she took it fur a few spins around the yard, then I got to go fur my very first ever motorcycle ride!!
Notice how I'm smiling.

Here's me waiting fur Mom to take me fur another ride. Enough woof the piktures already, lets go!! I'm shedding and the wind blows some of that old dead hair out of my body.

Let's gooooo.....

I want to ride every day!! I really loved it and now know I was Born2Ride! Born 2 B a Biker Dog! Only one little problem just now. Mom doesn't have her full motorcycle license yet so isn't allowed to carry passengers and thinks the police would class me as a passenger even though I'm not a hooman been. We rode around in Tuggy's yard so the police men can't say anything cuz we're not on public property. (Maybe I need to invoke the Gulf Coast Jones Act on them... arf, arf, arf) Or maybe I just need to be patient until Mom can pack me legally. I'm not good at being a patient dog.

Do you think anyone will try to mess woof Mom's trike woof me in it??

Mom's gonna put some other piktures of me and her trike on her blog, I Was Born2Cree8. Go see them.

Mom's Struggle

Mom had a gain at TOPS last week, and another one this week. She has been having a hard times staying away from high fat & high sugar foods lately. Part of this is cuz she's been eating woof friends lately but she knows she can't blame that on them alone cuz she eats things when she's not woof friends too. She does volunteer work at the Food Bank so handles lots of stuff like doughnuts and cheese breads and cookies and muffins and she loves these kind of foods so much that it's hard not to eat some of it when she is allowed to have it and it's free. Well, she's allowed to have it as in the people there say it's okay so she snacks a bit while working. She's not allowed to have it from the point of view that 1. she's trying to loose weight, 2. she's diabetic, 3. she's got high cholesterol. She better smarten up or she'll have to go on drugs from her doctor for the cholesterol. She'd think about "order Phentermine" or some other thing like that to help woof the weight loss but she doesn't believe in that kind of thing. Guess she just needs to make herself get back to eating healthy and exercising.

New Family Member

I just found out that Mom 'Bean is now a great great aunt, this means that her mom (Nan as the family calls her) is a great great grandmother. Nan's eldest daughter Anne is the mother of Denny who is the father of Dustin, Nicole & Daniella. Dustin just became a father of a baby boy also named Dustin. Unfortunately, Mom will probably never get to meet Dustin Jr. cuz he lives in Mississippi and that's a very long way from where we live. Dustin used to live in Mississippi fur awhile, then moved back to Vancouver, BC cuz he couldn't get enough work there. Him & his 'gma' Anne will be going to meet the new baby, but he won't be able to live there & Dustin Jr. & his mother won't be able to come to Canada. Sad, but part of life and at least woof Dustin Sr. not there she (don't know her name) can go on woof her life and maybe be woof another man. She also can now get her figure back. This dog thinks that before now not even the best weight loss pills that work would have helped to get rid of that belly... but then what do I know, I'm only a dog and never had pups of my own.

Sleep Over Party

My hooman friend Tuggy doesn't have car insurance cuz he doesn't have a car. He rides a motor cycle woof 3 wheels, called a trike. A big red Harley trike to be exact. It's not quite like Mom's trike, but they both have 3 wheels. Tonight Tuggy phoned Mom and asked if he could spend the night here cuz it's raining real hard and he didn't want to ride all the way out to his place, a half hour past our place. Mom said he could stay here but has to sleep woof ME!!! I likes that cuz he tastes good when I lick his face. Arf, arf. arf. He pets me lots and likes me lots so I likes him. We're gonna have a sleep over party. I'm going to get the dog cookies fur us to eat. See you later.

Laying In Wait

Just layin' here waiting fur Mom 'Bean to get my dinner ready fur me. I eat raw meat and sometimes Mom furgets to take some out of the freezer to let it thaw so I can eat it. She knows she could give it all to me just like that and let me gnaw on it like I do on bones, though she only gives me half of one of those big chunks at a time. If she gives the whole thing to me at once I throw some of it back up again after I woof it all down in .5 of a second. As I lay here, the TV is on a channel where it tells Mom what's on fur her to watch. They just showed a ad fur an exercise machine, one fur life insurance, and some other dumb ones too. Now it's time fur her to turn the channel to 7 and watch Criminal Minds. I think this dog will go read a book or do some online stuff... ruff ruff.

Doggy Kisses

Sometimes I like to kiss people, well okay, more like lick 'em. It's my way of saying "hi, I like you, yur okay." Sometimes though I just do it to taste them, arf arf arf. No really, some of 'em taste like salt and that can be nice sometimes. Sometimes when I lick people they get mad at me and sometimes they really like it, depends on who they are. I've even had my lick seem like some kind of age spot removal, give the old person a lick and they dissolve into a kid again. Yup, some people start to laugh and giggle and feel like a kid again when a good dog gives 'em a lil' kiss. It's fun.

Gardens

Mom has been real busy lately, as is pretty usual, but doing different things. The last few days she's been planting a garden in old bathtubs and our old freezer what quit working a few years ago. Today our friend Tuggy came by and helped her do some of that. He also got out the lawn mower and dud some work woof that. Now not only will that part of the yard look nicer and get used fur once in a very long time, but Mom says we'll have nice fresh veggies to eat later in the summer... all this slicker than puttin' yur computer into its laptop briefcase. Wooffff!!! Dan gave Mom 2 nice chairs fur sitting on outside and she's gonna put them into that part of the yard too, to sit on and enjoy he gardens. She has lots more work to do there yet though.
