When Mom & I visited our friend Cyndi, Mom was given a new dog, a "baby Rottenweiler" Mom calls Arf. Our friend Dan was in Arizona and Mom showed him the new dog on web cam. He thought Arf was a real dog, arf arf arf. Its funny. Well, he is a real dog I guess, but a real stuffy dog, arf arf arf.

Meet Arf:

Visit Camera Critters, and other participants.

Fun on the Lake

Woof Camera Critters, yur sposed to show photographs you took of critters. I hope it's okay I'm breaking the rules a bit. I didn't take these piktures, but I am in them. I am the Critter in 'em, folks. I am Reba Jane Rottenweiler. Welcome to my dog blog and my Camera Critters post.

Mom took me out today fur some fun. We didn't go to my dog park, but out onto the lake near our house. In the winter time it freezes real lots and people go out there and cut holes in the ice, then they stick stings (Mom calls them lines) through into the water and hope fishies will bite 'em and get pulled up onto the ice. Today people was driving on the lake woof their '4 wheelers' and 'dirt bikes', and later in the winter people will drive out there in cars and trucks, when the ice is frozen even thicker. Sometimes there are car races out on this lake. I hope they get good car insurance quote befur they drive out there, just in case they fall through the ice. Last winter, Mom & I drove out onto the lake just a little bit in our truck. Mom was very nervous driving on the lake, but just 'had' to do it so she could say she had, arf arf arf. Maybe we'll do it again this year and get better piktures fur you than we did last year.

Mom has to go now, so I gotta too. I'll be back real soon to finish this post. Bark!!

I'm Baaaaackkkkk. (arf, arf, arf)

Arriving we find lots of vehicles already there, some are in this pikture. You can see right out onto the lake.

Here I'm sayin' hello to some people out here skating.

Off to meet some other people who are headed into shore. They are dragging a thing behind them that they sit in to keep warm while they ice fish.

Come on, Mom. Hurry! There's even more people out here fur me to go say hi to and see what they're doin. Wanna see if they caught any of those ice fishies today.

Mom said it was too far to walk woof low boots on in deep snow, so we didn't walk out there, but Mom took piktures woof her zoom fur me. There is one of those '4 wheelers' I mentioned earlier.

These next 2 piktures are me, playin' in the snow.

Hey look what I found!! A frozen-over-again-ice-fishing-hole!

Time to head back to shore. Next time Mom better remember her mittens and hat, maybe a scarf too. (Unless yur the Lead Dog, the view never changes.)

Here I am getting close to land again... just on the edge of the lake. There's one of those 'dirt bike' things. I saw him ride in, and it sure would be fun to run woof him and see if I could out run that machine of his. It turned out he was kinda cute, so maybe I could've caught him fur Mom, arf arf arf.

Hi! Kin I have those mittens? My Mom's hands are getting cold so we gotta leave, but maybe if she had nice mittens we could stay longer and I could keep playing around.

Gee, more of those 'dirt bikes'.

Mom's calling me... gotta git into the truck and leave. Drat!

The road that leads away...

This post is a Two-Fur!

Camera Critters web site

ImageChef.com - Custom comment codes for MySpace, Hi5, Friendster and more

Our new challenge is hosted by Quilly. Today through next Saturday, the challenge is to post photos of Reflections! When Mom told me we had a new challenge, kinda like the Dragon Hunt that just finished, I hoped it would be hunting cats or rabbits... but it's just lookin' fur reflections. Maybe next time?!

In May 2007, Mom & I went to visit our friend Cam in the Kootenays. We also got to meet Kai who lived there, and Claire who was visiting from Scotland. Both 'friends' through the bloggisphere. On the way there, in the pouring rain, Mom stopped at Fish Lake (and a bunch of other places) to take piktures of stuff.

In this pikture you get to see Canada Geese going fur a swim... and you can see the reflections of their heads/necks in the water. Critters and their reflections... that's yur Two-Fur! Arf, arf, arf.

Have a woofenderful day!!!
Whoof, Bark!!

Camera Critters

Camera Critters is a Sunday Meme/Challenge that is all about animals/critters. Each week we post a photo, or photos, of an animal, then link back to the Camera Critters web site. We also go see what others who are taking part have posted.

I caught Mom 'Bean lookin' at these piktures of Shadow. She's been doing really well since he died, but I know she's missing him tonight. Lookin' at these piktures stirred things up fur Mom. So I'm givin' them to you folks so Mom won't have to look at 'em any more and be sad.

Fur new people here, look at the top of my side bar. Shadow's birth Mom lived woof Mom until she went to the Rainbow Bridge, her body was the first one in the Pet Cemetery here on the land where we live. Her name was Smoothedge and Mom 'Bean loved her whole bunches and big bag fulls. When she was pregnant, Mom played woof the kittens when they was still in Smoothedge's belly. Then she sat woof Smoothy while the kittens was born. This is all stuff I heard when I was grownin' up you see, cuz it was long time before I was born. Anyway, Smoothedge had 4 babies and Mom kept Shadow, named that cuz he always followed Mom around, even when his birth Mom was still woof them. So then, when Shadow was about 6 months old, Smoothedge got killed. Mom 'Bean loved her Shadow lots and lots, and he slept in her bed woof her every night. He was gonna be 17 years old on April 28 this year, but died on March 6 from kiddy knee failure... or somethin' like that.

So heeeerrreeee SHADOW!!

Ya, we know they're not real great piktures... and we don't care.
Whoof!!!

Oh, what cute little Canada Goose McNuggets!
"Heeere goosie McNuggets, come to Reba!"

Oh, come on! I'm just joking. I wouldn't really eat the little fuzz balls!

Mom 'Bean said when she took this pikture the lil buzz balls were trying to get out a' the water and their Mom was tryin' to get them to follow her out... but the wall was a bit too high fur them to get up it. Then their Mom took 'em somewhere else to get out.

Camera Critters & Alphabet Photo Challenge -- "D"

Camera Critters is a Sunday Meme/Challenge that is all about animals/critters. Each week we post a photo, or photos, of an animal, then link back to the Camera Critters web site. We also go see what others who are taking part have posted.

Alphabet Photo Challenge
originated at
Quilly's Pacific Paradise, and runs for the first 26 days of May. Each day you post photos that you took, that have to do with that days letter. Are you interested in viewing my earlier letters?

Today is the letter "D"!
My first thought was Drive-Thru (Mom gets me such good little ice creams there), but then I remembered that I'm doin' Camera Critters too, so when Mom & I went to the Dog Park to walk woof our friends, I got her to take some piktures fur me. Sorry that I can't do anything more original and exciting than dogs fur you, but I hope you like these piktures anyway. Bark!!

Max (Golden Lab) and Steel (German Shepard) are waiting fur Max's Dad to throw them a stick. Dumb boys!

Max is swimming! EEWWWW! I like to wade a bit but never swim!
That's just plain dangerous!

Steel & Max both swimming. Dang!!

Ever hear the band "Three Dog Night"? Anyway, I'm trying to get their attention, but they are determined not to let go of that stupid stick.

Don't forget to come back tomorrow and see what I post fur "E". I'll surprise you! Heck, I'll surprise myself too, cuz I don't got a clue yet!

Leave me yur nice words, then go visit others that posted fur these two meme's.

Comments to Commenters

Whoof, everyone!! I wanted to talk to the people what came and visited my Camera Critters post and left me messages. Here's what I said to 'em, and if you want to know what they said to me you have to go 'inside' and read it, arf arf arf.

I Beati - Thanks fur the visit and the words.

Gattina - Mom says I'm 'too friendly', but I think she knows that I'd protect her if anything really came up. BARK

Imac - Awww, shucks, thanks fur those nice words.

Storyteller - do you and yur Molly live in a city? Is she too small to ride in the back of a truck? Mom won't let me ride back there woofout protection like the camper or the rack. We have 2 kinds of deer around here that this dog knows about... the Mule Deer like you see in these piktures, and White Tail Deer what have bigger tails and smaller ears.

Lilli & Nevada - Yip, I had a woofenderful time!! I look forward to being able to go again, and hoping it will be soon.

Misty Dawn - Whoof!! Ya, Mom takes good care 'o me... and she won't let me ride in the truck woofout protection. In winter it's a canopy. Last summer was the first year she put a rack on the truck and it was woofenderful!! We both liked it. In the fall we took it off and put the canopy back on again.

Jenny 865-53oh9 - that's a big name, whew! Yes, it was a woofenderful vacation woof my Mom. Thanks fur the visit.

Vader's Mom - Thanks fur coming over. I'm pretty much always happy so long as I'm close to my Mom. When she's not here, I don't even want to eat much.

Tammy - Thanks fur the nice comment. Come again.

Simply Shannon - Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Dianne - Hi. Mom & I do love each other and are happy together. We're both very grateful we found each other.

Bundle-o-contradictions - Whoof!! Thanks fur the visit and the comment.

Ashrunner - my Mom 'Bean says the deer was licking salt off the pavement. See, they (hoomans) put salt on the road in winter to melt ice and make the highway safer to drive on. The deer like to eat the salt.

gewinnspiel - Thank you. Yes, it was a woofenderful trip. I met Mom's long time friend Cam and he let me stay in his house woof my Mom. Mom thought I'd sleep in the truck but Cam said no... he said it was okay to bring me inside. I just had to behave myself when near Cam cuz he walks on 2 canes and Mom was scared he'd fall down if I bumped into him. He's pretty tuff tho and I tried to stay calm when near him.

Ananya - thanks fur making that nice post about me and the link to my blog. Hey everyone... check out the post Ananya wrote about my blog!!! I whoofed woof happiness 'bout this.

Have a great week everyone... see you soon.

My Mom thinks it would be real cool to have all new furniture and give away all this old stuff she has. I think she'd really like this teak furniture, don't you?

Camera Critters #2

This is the third week of Camera Critters, a new meme/challenge in the bloggesphere, and it's all about photos of animals/critters. I missed the first week, so today is my second post. This is a Sunday post each week, and for more information, or to play along, you can check it out by clicking on the banner above.

Once upon a time, a long long time ago, well, by dog years anyway, but not so long ago by hooman years... May 2007, my Mom 'Bean and I went on a the best holiday I've ever been on. Well, okay, so it was the only holiday I've ever been on. Anyway, we went to the Kootenays. That's in the province of British Columbia (BC) Canada. It was a long drive... about 4 1/2 hours, and we stayed woof our friend Cam. We were gone almost a week and had a woofenderful time. We even met Claire, all the way over her from her home in Scotland. That's like another world to a dog.

This is me in our truck. Mom took the canopy off fur the summer and built this rack... just fur me to enjoy the summer and be able to go more places woof her. She put a blanket over top to give me shade when it got hotter, and a tarp when it rained so I'd stay dry. We were on a ferry boat here, going across the Lower Arrow Lake.

This is me. We were on a woofenderful walk that day.

On our way home we say lots and lots and lots of deer... and even more than that. Anyway, this one Mom took a picture of. We stopped driving and Mom took the picture through the windshield of the truck. Then she drove closer and was hanging out the driver's window about to take another one... the deer didn't even care until a noise car came along and scared the deer away.

This is a different deer. By this time I'd started barking at the deer when Mom 'Bean went to take pictures of them. I got excited 'bout it all.

Happy Camera Critters day!!!

Camera Critters #1

This is the second week of Camera Critters, a new meme/challenge in the bloggesphere, and it's all about photos of animals/critters. I missed the first week, so today is my first post. This is a Sunday post each week, and for more information, or to play along, you can check it out by clicking on the banner above.

My Mom 'Bean took these piktures on June 23, 2005. She was in a nearby town woof my Nan (her Mom) and this gull just walked right up to her and posed so Mom 'Bean could take these photos of it (him or her, I don't know which). If I had been there, I'd have had fun barking at this bird, and if I was free, I'd chase it. Not to catch it, just fur the fun and exercise involved. Anyway, I think they're kinda nice photos.

Next week maybe I'll show you some of the other critters that live here woof Mom and me, but fur now I thought it would be fun to show you these.

Have a Woofenderful week!
