Hoar Frost 2

I was looking at the Environment Canada Weatheroffice on the internet. We still are having fog all day around my place, though other parts of this area have gotten sunshine over the last day or two, or so I heard at the store today. The forecast I read is for warmer temperatures starting tomorrow, a possiblity of a wee bit of sun tomorrow though clouds for the rest of the week, and possible rain and snow all this coming week. Not my favorite weather, but it is February. Just 3 weeks and it will be March, thank God.

Here are some more photos of the hoar frost from my Adventures in Wonderland 2 days ago.

Hoar Frost

The other day, with nice warm weather and sunshine, we got some fog in the evening. You see, the city I live in is built on 3 lakes and I live just across the highway from one of those lakes, then in the hills behind my place is a small lake, the 4th lake we have here. With all this water, it's not surprising we get a lot of fog at times. That night, with all the fog, the temperatures suddenly dropped and everything froze. This resulted in the dampness of the fog forming into hoar frost on trees, blades of grass, weeds, wires or all kinds, etc etc. Here are a few photos of the hoar frost.

Frost on the leg of a wire tomato cage that is laying in the yard.

The wire fence covered in frost is the north west corner of my property, the tree is on the neighbor's land.

This is the north east corner of my place, the highway and neighbor to the east.

A more distant shot from the top of my driveway looking towards the north east corner.

Looking up the driveway, you see the fence between me and the neighbor to the north. The trees are mostly on their land.

I love the beauty of hoar frost on everything... and I think it would be so much more beautiful if the fog finally went away and we had clear blue sky with the white frosted trees and such. Maybe tomorrow.

Gear Up!

I took this photo last evening, 8 motorcycles and there were 10 people including me. We were on our regular Monday evening All Canadian Riders Club ride. Shane, one of our riders, said that with it being so hot he didn't understand how I could fully gear up... chaps, jacket, gloves as well as my helmet. Most of the other riders wore only short sleeve shirts and jeans, only one other than me wore his leather jacket, but no chaps.

If you read my blog often, you know that 11 months ago, September 10, 2010, I was riding my trike (3 wheeled motorcycle) when I was hit by a car. All summer long I had ridden in muscle shirts, spaghetti strap sun tops, or bathing suits with my jeans. I loved the freedom of riding like that and the resulting sun tan, the best sun tan I'd ever had. Yes, I knew it was not a good idea to ride without protective gear, but hey, I ride a trike!! Far safer than 2 wheel motorcycles!! I still believe that 3 wheels are safer than 2... and I know that when a car hits you, you are 'going down' either way. The day I was hit I was wearing my leathers, thank God!! In fact, I had been given a pair of chaps about 1 1/2 hours before I was hit, so I was fully geared up proudly wearing my new chaps as well as my jacket and gloves... all leather. Yes, I was still fairly severely injured, yet I know that had I been wearing my usual summer attire, I would have been injured far worse!! The scrapes on my helmet show where my head would have been damaged if I wasn't wearing the helmet, and I know that my skin would have been off my body and all over the road if I had not been wearing leathers. So often I see people wearing shorts, tank tops/t-shirts/hip hop clothing/flip flop shoes/and other things that are not appropriate gear for riding motorcycles. I wish I could make people understand that you never know when someone will hit you or when you might hit loose gravel and go down, so you must always wear protective gear!!

Pics of Trike

I just couldn't wait to see hoe it felt!
My wonderful Reba Jane Rottenweiler after her first ride.... wanting her second one.  Yup, she got it.
Sad... this is after the crash.
Note the bent frame, bent forks, cracked fork, etc.

I can't seem to get this program to work right.  Blogger has made changes to the photo part of things, changing a simple, user friendly program that I have joyfully used for years into a problematic, not-user-friendly situation.  Very frustrating and most time wasting.  This may be the last photos I ever upload to either of my blogs.  Sad!

So I will have to explain here that the top photo was taken the day I bought the bike.

The story that goes with these photos can be found here.

Biker Dog!!

Wow!!!
You wouldn't believe what I did yesterday if I just told you, so I'm gonna
show you instead!!

~Click on the piktures fur a bigger view~

Mom had been working on the trike, her & Tuggy had to get the back brakes working right before he'd let her take the trike home. Once that was done she took it fur a few spins around the yard, then I got to go fur my very first ever motorcycle ride!!
Notice how I'm smiling.

Here's me waiting fur Mom to take me fur another ride. Enough woof the piktures already, lets go!! I'm shedding and the wind blows some of that old dead hair out of my body.

Let's gooooo.....

I want to ride every day!! I really loved it and now know I was Born2Ride! Born 2 B a Biker Dog! Only one little problem just now. Mom doesn't have her full motorcycle license yet so isn't allowed to carry passengers and thinks the police would class me as a passenger even though I'm not a hooman been. We rode around in Tuggy's yard so the police men can't say anything cuz we're not on public property. (Maybe I need to invoke the Gulf Coast Jones Act on them... arf, arf, arf) Or maybe I just need to be patient until Mom can pack me legally. I'm not good at being a patient dog.

Do you think anyone will try to mess woof Mom's trike woof me in it??

Mom's gonna put some other piktures of me and her trike on her blog, I Was Born2Cree8. Go see them.

Dog Park

"Stay Still While I Take Pictures"

Mom likes to take piktures of me and my friends at the dog park. She wants me to stand still and look pretty while she takes 'em. She says stuff like: "Stay Still While I Take Pictures". Well, this just doesn't happen unless she catches me unaware... arf, arf, arf. It's fun to drive her crazy and move just as she clicks the shutter. I guess we can say she doesn't get much order fulfillment... arf, arf, arf. I thought I'd show you a few piktures she took September 16th, last Wednesday.

This is Blu. He's a registered Black Russian (sounds like some kind of boozy drink, arf.) He has some kind of real long fancy name but his friends just call him Blu. Mom got lucky woof this shot.

I'm not the only one that does this to Mom. The dog was so small Mom got down to take the pick and it ran right under her.
Mom wood'a been happy if I hadn't moved my head. I was sniffing the little ankle biter. Cuz it was wet on it's body & dry on it's head it looked like a tiny lion dog, arf arf arf!!

Fishing

Guess what I did today!! I went FISHING!! Yup, fur real fishies!! Mom wanted to learn to fish cuz she's had a fishing rod & a bit of tackle fur 2 years now, and has had a fishing license fur a long time too, but never got out cuz it's been sooooooo many years since she learned to fish (more years than I've been alive & I'm old fur a dog), and she couldn't really remember how to tie the hook on or if floats was needed or sinkers or both. So, today we drove out and picked up our friend Tuggy (he's called that cuz he drove and lived on Tug Boats fur 3 dogs lives - around 30 human years). Anyway, Tuggy went woof us to a lake called Pillar Lake and he helped Mom, then they both fished a lot off the bank, way far from each other so their lines wouldn't get tangled. I hung out woof Mom mostly and went to have a few short visits woof Tug. I tried to wander off a few times to find other stuff to do, but Mom would call me back each time. It was kinda nice hanging out around the lake. Kinda wish we'd done that when the weather was still real hot. Anyway, no fishies was caught so eventually we went down the road and sat at a picnic table fur awhile woof them talking, then drove back to the town where Tug lives and visited Mom's real long time friend Stacia. Tug knows Stacia & Lucky too. Then we drove Tug back home to his place and drove us home to our place. I think Mom really liked fishing & visiting woof her friends. I think we'll do it some more too.

Whining....

I think I need the services of a Pleasanton motorcycle accident attorney. Mom 'Bean was walking down the street the other day and by accident saw a motorcycle she wants to buy. I want to find a way to stop her from having such a conveyance. If she has one of them she'll go all over the country woofout me cuz I can't safely ride on one of those. She would like to have one woof a side car fur me, or have a trike so she can have a place on the back of it fur me, and I'm not sure if I'd like that or not. She has ridden the back of lots of bikes but has never driven one, she hadn't even ridden one fur many years, not since our old friend Gil quit riding his BMW, then he died. Now this year she got to go on a ride and it's all back big time in her blood, she 'has' to ride and doesn't have anyone who can take her riding as often as she wants to go so thinks she has to have her own. This guy said she could make payments on his bike and take the bike home when it's paid fur. Mom's friend Tuggy thinks it would be a good bike fur Mom and said he'd go look at it woof her to make sure. I do think she's now kinda possibly maybe likely made up her mind to wait and save her money then buy one in the spring cuz she feels not good about debt and making payments. Guess time will tell.

See, this is evidence!! There's no place fur me to ride!!

She has to be stopped!!

Piktures of ME.

Whoof!! Hi my friends. It's been awhile since I got here, I've been busy. Ya, I know, you people think us dogs don't do much of anything but lay around and sleep and while I must admit I do a bit of that I do still do other things. I go fur rides in the truck woof Mom every chance I get and that's happening more now that the weather is cooled down a bit, and I go fur walks at the Dog Park when Mom can take me there. Lately I've even been thinking about how to do diet pill reviews woof out saying if I like 'em or don't like 'em. I wouldn't want my opinion to sway people after all. Arf, arf, arf.

So anyways, I promised Thom one day that I'd get Mom to take some photos of me the way I ride in the truck. Here they are. Arf, arf.

Caught in the Act

"It wasn't me playing solitaire on Mom's computer!"
"Wasn't me either!"
"Must've been the CAT!!"
"Quick. Let's flock off!!"

Yup, one of 'em left evidence that they were on the keyboard. Bad boids!

Me In Our Truck

These are the piktures I promised to get fur you to see. It's me in the truck woof the new rack on it. Mom took these when we were parked. She was having tea on the patio at McDonald's woof Wendy. Because we were parked and she was close and watching me, she loosened off the tie rope so I could lay down if I wanted to, and I did fur a bit too. When we're driving the rope is lots shorter so I can't even get to the side of the truck and fall out. I can still get up onto the tool box though, and put my head and front legs into the cab through the sliding window. I likes that. The tool box is new to Mom too, and she thinks it's very handy to have. Someone gave her all that rope/cord and she has it hung up there 'til she gets to untangle it all and cut it into some shorter pieces. She says it will come in handy fur millions of things. She always likes to have ropes and such fur tying things onto the truck or trailer... includining me. Arf, arf, arf. Seriously though, she doesn't tye me to anything very often, just into the truck woof no canopy or such to protect me from falling out.
