Photo Hunters

About Photo Hunters, Photo Hunters Themes 2008, more Photo Hunters posts for today's theme.

Chinchillas are messy little animals... but Mom sure likes them and I guess they are kinda cute... so long as it's Mom that has to clean up after them. She has 5 of 'em, but I only got piktures of 3 of 'em to share her tonight.

Smudge in a bottle!
They like to bath in these and to sleep in them too.

Smudge by his front door, hoping he can scoot out while Mom has the door open. Chinchillas like to get out and run and play... and eat wires and all sorts of stuff they're not 'sposed to.

This is Daisy. She's an old gal, but still real fast when she has a chance to get out and play. Real hard to catch 'em when they do excape.

Daisy and Sheri here. They share an apartment. Mom has the door open and her hand right there to stop the girls from jumping out and running around the house chewing phone cords and such again. I think they're eying it up to see if they can make it without Mom catchin' 'em.

Happy Photo Hunting.
Thank you for coming to visit and for leaving me your
Barks, Woofs, Licks and other signs of Love!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

About my blog rank and such

There's some stuff been happening here lately that is not making me too happy. For one thing, my blog's PR went down a month or so ago... from PR3 to PR0. That bites big time! Thing is, that could have something to do with the other thing... The site meter reporter thingy keeps sayin' I have no visitors coming here. Now how silly is that. How could people leave comments her for me if they didn't come here? I admit that lately there's not been that many people or critters coming her to visit me, and it's been getting real lonely... but at least SOME have been comin' by to say 'hi'. And if I'm getting some comments, you can bet there are some that come by to look see that don't leave messages. But still I get these reports all the time:

 Rebas Run

It's like it quit seeing the visitors comin' and goin' here. This is messin' woof my doggy cookie supply and I am NOT happy about that. Do any of you have any ideas what I can do to make that silly thingy work right again? If so, please let me know.

I think it would be nice to have my showfur (Mom) drive me around in this car. That back seat looks comfortable for me. If you have one of these, you might need some Chrysler 300 accessories.

Angels DO Exist

Did I tell you that Mom & I have a tenant living here now? A old friend of Mom's was sleeping in his truck woof his lil tiny dog, Angel. He came to visit and Mom said he was to live in the travel trailer that we were given a few weeks earlier. Things just work out like that all the time. The travel trailer is tiny, only about 13' to 14' long, and not real warm this time of year, but Don & Angel keep saying they are just fine out there and are happy. Every evening they come up into our house. Some people call our house a 'trailer' but Mom doesn't like that. She calls it our home or a 'mobile home', and she says a trailer is what she can pull behind her pick up truck woof a load of garbage in it, or like the travel trailer. A trailer is something you put a license and insurance on and pull it down the highway. We don't do that with our home.

Anyway, so Don & Angel come to our home every evening and sit here for hours and hours. Don drinks lots of coffee and talks to Mom, even during her TV shows and when she's trying to make money woof her blog postings. She is liking the company, but not too happy 'bout those two things. I'm starting to get used to the little floor mop, Angel, and she's starting to get used to me. However, we still have some problems. We start to play and Mom & Don get scared for Angel and tell me to play nice. Angel runs behind her Dad's legs and hides. Geeeee.... it would be much more fun to play woof a real dog than a floor mop that smells like a dog. Angel is a ShitsWhoo cross, but mostly ShitsWhoo, and she is awfully cute... fur a floor mop that is. Things are starting to work out though, so will see how it all goes.

Now... to earn some good dog cookies I post this here link to used cisco so you can all go there and have a look at what they have that you need or want. Please go have a look so I can keep earning dog cookies. Thanks, arf, arf!!

Friday's Feast #18

Whoof!!! It's your dynamic doggy chef returned to create a culinary delight for you all to enjoy. Welcome to my last feast of 2007!
Friday's Feast
Food Fur Smart Dawgs

Appetizer
Name 2 things you would like to accomplish in 2008.

I wanna eat a roast beef all by myself.
I wanna go to the dog park more often.
Have a
Samsonite suitcase full of dog cookies.
Ya, ya, ya... I know that's three things. I may be a dog but I can still count. Woof!!

Soup
With which cartoon character do you share personality traits?

Ummmm.... maybe Goofy. We're both dogs and I can act silly at times.

Salad
What time of day (or night) were you born?

I dunno, my eyes were closed.... and I'm adopted so I can't find out.

Main Course
Tell us something special about your hometown.

I was born on a farm out in the country, and now I live out in the country in another place where I've lived with the lady I call Mom, she adopted me when I was 7 weeks old and I've lived in this place all my life after that first 7 weeks. So I don't know what my home town is, but I know that it's real nice living around here and the town I was born near isn't very far from the city I live near now. Well, not very far in Mom's truck, but would be real far if I had to walk it.

Dessert
If you could receive a letter from anyone in the world, who would you want to get one from?

The Queen of England, cuz I bet in all the 50 years or so of being a Queen, she's never written to a dawg and I think that's just plain sad. I think it would be good for her to have the opportunity before Chuck takes over the thrown.

Check out Fridays' Feast... see more participants for this week.

Please leave me your Barks, Woofs, Licks and other signs of love.
Your words brighten my day.

HAPPY 2008!!!

Great Vacation Deals

It's winter, and at this time of year lots of people want to 'get away' to a nice warm place for a vacation. Other people want to take their vacation somewhere that is cold so they can ski. This means that all these people are traveling, and staying in hotels, motels, resorts, vacation rentals, etc. This can be quite costly, though you can get great deals and discounts on your Hotel Reservations when you know where to shop. Pick your country of destination, pick the dates you want to be there, and waa laaa!

Wordless Wednesday

These were taken December 11 at my favorite dog park. Just wanted to show you what it looks like with snow on the ground. It's not all that deep yet this year. Some melted since then but then it snowed again today. We've been gettin' up there just before dark lately, so these were kinda dark but I had Mom brighten then up a bit so I could show them to you. We'll get more one day soon.

Wishing everyone a Wonderful Week!!!!

Please help me earn more doggy cookies.... go check out this site about light fixtures. Whoof! Whoof!!

Whining

Mom has a friend living in our travel trailer and he has a little floor mop he calls a dog. Angel is a Shit Sue. Well, I might have that spelled wrong, but hey, not all dogs can spell real good, ya know. I get so mad at Angel cuz she keeps playing with MY Mom! When we're at the dog park I don't care that Mom pets lots of other dogs there, that's fine with me. None of them hang around her for long and none of them lick Mom's nose right up into her nostrils, like Angel does. I know that little hairy floor mop is trying to steal my Mom, and I won't let it get away with that. It's bad enough that I have to share her with that cat she loves so much, the darn thing gets to sleep on Mom's bed with her, while I have to sleep on a big cushion on the floor at the foot of Mom's bed. Now this floor mop comes in and chews my toys and loves my Mom. It's just not right, I tell you!

Now, it's time fur me to earn some dog cookies fur me to eat. If you like horses why not go here and look at the cool horse riding apparel. Whoof!!!

BARK, BARK, BARK!!!

I'm very happy and excited today!!! I finally get to tell you what I've been noticing over the last few days. Mom is getting healthier!! She seems more awake and is obviously not in as much pain as she usually is!!! This makes me VERY happy cuz I loves my Mom.

Wanna know why she's feeling better?? She's taking a new product... not just new to her, but pretty new on the market too. To save money on the product Mom signed up as a distributor of the product. Now that she's feeling the start of the benefits from it, she's decided to tell people about it so they can get feelin' better too... and peoples they love too. I think every hooman should go read Mom's web site and watch the cool videos there too.

Beds: Old and New

The bed I sleep in, and have for many years now, once belonged to my Mom & Dad. They slept in it for a lot of years too. I am not sure, but it seems to me Mom said they'd bought it second hand. It is an antique bed with matching 4 drawer highboy, and a vanity and stool. Unfortunately, during one of the moves we made the mirror for the vanity got broken, and Dad through the frame from it into the garbage. I wish I had that frame so I could get it an new mirror.

As much as I love antiques, including my antique bed, I all too often wake up during the night in pain. Rarely if ever do I wake in the morning feeling rested and refreshed from the nights sleep. When I went to my brother's wedding in May, I stayed at the resort where they were wed, and the bed there was the most wonderful, comfortable bed. In the morning when everyone else went for breakfast, I chose to stay in bed. I did not want to get out of it until I had to. Since then I've wanted a bed just like that one. I want a memory foam mattress.

This is my entry into a contest by Pay U2 Blog and BedInABox.com. The prize is a queen size memory foam bed. How cool is that!!!

I'm 63 Dog Years!!!

Hi every critter!! Our internet was broken for days and days... well, almost 3 of 'em anyway. It was awful!!! I couldn't come and post anything and I lost an assignment that would earn me cookies. It was sposed to be done by today. I thought I'd have 'til the end of today, but it's already gone. Whimper Whine. But anyway.....

I turned 9 years old in human years yesterday!! That's about 63 dog years! It's a good thing that I'm still healthy and able to run and play like a puppy, cuz otherwise I might need a stair lift to get up the steps into the house. Getting into the back of our truck would be impossible then without some kind of a lift. I have to be able to jump up into the back of the 4x4 which is much higher than a car or a 2 wheel drive truck. But that's not an issue yet, cuz I'm healthy as all get out and I still run and play like a puppy. In fact, recently I was up at the dog park with Mom again and got to playin' real hard with a couple youngins. We had so much fun and almost knocked people over a couple times cuz we forgot to pay attention to them as we ran and chased each other around. That's hard work for an old woman like me.... arf, arf, arf.

Christmas Thinking

It's time to get ready fur Christmas.... but not until after my Birthday!! I will be 9 people years old on Friday Dec. 14, yup just a couple days to go now. Then after that, the next big thing is Christmas. Mom has been trying to think of what to get her Mom and sisters and such. She's not even sure who to buy for, never mind what to get them. I think she should use this list I made up for her:
- Nan (her Mom) : some special good tea from Mr. Mo's store, The Wren's Nest, and some crackers and stuff like that in a gift basket, maybe some Purdies Chocolates.
- Auntie M: 8x10 photo, matted, and maybe some of that special good tea too.
- Uncle B and is family are coming down this year. For Unc. B and his woof, oops I mean wife, Karen: a 8x10 photo, matted.
- Uncle T and his wife Alana: 8x10 matted photo.

I'd like for my Mom to gets diamonds. Like diamond rings would be cool.

Guess I'd better give it some more thought. Arf!!

Manic Monday - Ornament

ImageChef.com - Custom comment codes for MySpace, Hi5, Friendster and more

Manic Monday is the creation of the Magnificent Mr. Mo (a.k.a. Not The Mama) at It's A Blog Eat Blog World. It's a wonderful and fun way to spend Mondays each week. This week, Mo has chosen Ornament as the word we work/play with.

The only Christmas ornament I'm usin' is the one at the top that says Dog-ic Monday.

I am a dog. My hooman Mom likes to keep me safe, so I spend lots of time behind a fence. It's not pretty!! Nothin' ornamental about it, just serviceable, but it keeps me from running out on the highway and bein' killed like some of Mom's other critters before me. Sooooo, I'm goin' ta show you some ornamental fences and gates. Some day I want to have a pretty fence like these ones.

Enjoy all your Christmas ornaments, if you put them up. Mom has some up in our house and will have more up soon too. Happy December!

Have a 'woofenderful' week!

Christmas Etiquette For Dogs

Doggie Holiday Guidelines

1. Be especially patient with your humans during this time. They may appear to be more stressed-out than usual and they will appreciate long comforting dog leans.

2. They may come home with large bags of things they call gifts. Do not assume that all the gifts are yours.

3. Be tolerant if your humans put decorations on you. They seem to get some special kind of pleasure out of seeing how you look with fake antlers.

4. They may bring a large tree into the house and set it up in a prominent place and cover it with lights and decorations. Bizarre as this may seem to you, it is an important ritual for your humans, so there are some things you need to know:
- don't pee on the tree
- don't drink water in the container that holds the tree
- mind your tail when you are near the tree
- if there are packages under the tree, even ones that smell interesting or that have your name on them, don't rip them open
- don't chew on the cord that runs from the funny-looking hole in the wall to the tree

5. Your humans may occasionally invite lots of strangers to come visit during this season. These parties can be lots of fun, but they also call for some discretion on your part:
- not all strangers appreciate kisses and leans
- don't eat off the buffet table
- beg for goodies subtly
- be pleasant, even if unknowing strangers sit on your sofa
- don't drink out of glasses that are left within your reach

6. Likewise, your humans may take you visiting. Here your manners will also be important:
- observe all the rules in #4 for trees that may be in other people's houses. (4a is particularly important)
- respect the territory of other animals that may live in the house
- tolerate children
- turn on your charm big time

7. A big man with a white beard and a very loud laugh may emerge from your fireplace in the middle of the night. DON'T BITE HIM
!!

Car Angel

Every day we see on the news stories about homeless people, youth gangs, people addicted to drugs and/or alcohol, even people in prisons all over the world. Mom says "I have personally known, over the years, people who were in prison or had been, some who were addicted to drugs and yes, alcoholics too. Recently I even made friends with a homeless person. Oh, this one isn't a drunk or druggie or anything like that, but he has been camping out and sleeping wherever he could find a place safe from the crack heads of our little city, and safe from police who would of course send him on his way or arrest him for vagrancy."

These are very sad stories, though many people are able to say "Oh well, it doesn't affect me". How wrong they are. This affects every one. Each and every person on the face of this earth affects Spiritual Energy which affects every part of our world. Think about how much life has change over the last 30 years, or for that matter, the last 15 years. Mom used to think nothing of walking alone after dark, no matter where she was in the city and area where we live. Now there is no way she would be safe to do this.

These USA based outreach centers are God based and are helping to change the lives of the nations youth and adults. Car Angel uses car donations as well as boat, RV, plane and house donations to fund boys homes for at-risk youth, reaching into the prisons and helping the homeless and addicted get their lives back on track. By helping these people they are helping the world to heal. This sounds like a very worthy cause to me.

Here is a short Christian movie from the folks at Car Angel:

Random Barks

Mom listed my blog with "Dogs With Blogs" months ago and it's still not on there, so today we put another request in and hope I get listed there this time. After all, I AM a dog and I DO have this blog... so I fit the criteria to be on that list. Aren't you proud of me?? 'Criteria' is a pretty big word for a dog... but then, I'm a pretty big dog. Arf!!

I'm 'in the dog house' tonight. Well, not really, I'm actually in the people house, but I got heck from Mom. I get so excited and I run in the house and Mom doesn't like that but can't seem to find a way to stop me from doing it. Tonight there was a plastic Tupperware (or at least that kind of thing) dish on the floor with Chinchilla bath dust in it. Mom had used it to catch the 'escaped' chinchilla and hadn't picked it up yet. I ran over it and broke it in two and spilled chinchilla bath dust all over the floor. Mom is almost out of dust and is trying to 'stretch it' until she can get more, so she got pissed that I wasted it and that I broke that dish thingy that she needs for bathing Charlie Chinchilla. The other chins all have big bottles in their cages for bathing in, but Charlie doesn't have one cuz Mom didn't have that many and cuz poor Charlie is in a smaller cage than the rest of 'em. Last night Mom wanted to shred some papers but the chin cages were right here and the shredder in the other room, so she just gave the papers to the chins. They love chewing stuff like that all up. The birds like doing that too... at least the one that bites Mom all the time likes to chew paper. Come to think of it... I love chewing paper lots too.... arf, arf, arf.

We still live on the same real estate as before and I still love to go to the dog park, though this time of year we don't get there so much. I don't mind the cold and dark, but Mom isn't big on it. Bark!!
