HELP

Okay.... I have a question for you nice people out there. Reba is outside and Mom is asleep or something and I'm trying to change this thing so that it says posted by Shadow... or even by Reba and Shadow. I've looked and looked and can't seem to find it. Please help me find this before Reba comes inside and chases me away from the computer... or Mom wakes up and needs this thing.

Thanks.

Shadow.

Heeere's Shadow!!!

Hi. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Shadow. I am the purrrfect new co-author for this blog. I convinced Reba (my 'sister') that having a cat as a co-author to this blog would be the purrrfect idea for 'ratings'. I told her that having a cat here would make all the cat readers and cat loving people feel more comfortable here at Reba's Run. While this is all true, so is the fact that I want a reason to sit on Mom's lap while she's at the computer, which she is a lot. I get lonely waiting for Mom to get off this thing, and I read somewhere 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em'. So here I am. Please, don't tell Reba this last part.... just tell her it's good to half a cat fur a co-author on this blog.

Not only will I be helping Reba to write articles here, I will also be writing ads to earn money. While Reba's money will still go towards buying more doggie cookies and raw meat, I will be putting my earnings towards cream and raw kidney/heart/liver. Neither of us care much about anything other than food and a warm place to sleep with Mom.

I look forward to getting to know all of you better.

Manic Monday

Manic Monday (or as I like to call it, Dogic Monday) is the creation of the Magnificent Mr. Mo (a.k.a. Not The Mama) at It's A Blog Eat Blog World. It's a wonderful and fun way to spend Mondays each week. This week, Mo has chosen wish as the word we work/play with.

could

I hope you were able to read my message. It was wooofenderfully fun to make it for you. I wish I could eat bags full of doggie cookies and have raw meat for dinner every night. I even like to eat some raw vegetables and fruits. Mom says it's healthy for me to eat raw stuff. I just think it tastes really good. I am a dog woof discerning tastes, arf, arf, arf. I know that I am very blessed to get the raw food that Mom is able to give me, and to get regular dog food the rest of the time. I gets a doggie cookie every night before bed and I love it.

Have a 'woofenderful' week!

Learn more about Manic Monday here.

Now that I'm 9 years old, I'm considered an old dog. I know I have some years left, though not as many as I have behind me. I'm past middle age. I am lucky that I will always have my hooman Mom to look after me, no matter how old I get. Mom won't always have someone to look after her and will have to one day go into a 'home'. If you are like my Mom, you might want to take a look at senior living arrangements now and plan ahead.

Thursday 13

This is my first one of these and once Mom reads it, it could be my last. Whoof!!

Whoof! Glad you could make it to my doggy bloggy today. I'm gonna post 13 things Mom needs to do in this messy house we live in. Arf, arf, arf. (laughing) I admit that I don't help her woof keeping it clean and tidy, but I don't have to.... I'm a dog.

1- clean all the papers off the couch

2- take the plant pot full of dirt off the couch

3- clean off the sofa chair of various 'stuff'

4- clean the cages (2 budgie cages woof 3 budgies, 4 chinchilla cages woof 5 chins, 1 rabbit cage woof 1 rabbit)

5- vacuum the floor

6- put away the stack of new plant pots that she bought months ago and they're still in the living room

7- clear off the little table in the living room where she works on her computer

8- find the kitchen table. We know it's in that other room under that heap of 'stuff' but haven't seen it in awhile

9- get rid of heaps of shi... ummmm, stuff off the kitchen floor

10- dig out the stove and the kitchen counter from under more stuff

11- wash kitchen floor

12- put rug onto the kitchen floor. Someone gave it to Mom and she wants to hide the ugly lino

13- clean the bathroom

Trust me, this is just part of the To Do List... but it's Thursday 13, not Thursday 113. Arf, arf, arf.

Angel's Tongue Up Your Nose.

Angel, that little Shitzoo that comes to visit every night, just went back to the travel trailer in our yard... her home. Every night before he dad packs her out of here she makes Mom laugh. Mom says good night to her, patting the little floor mop and talkin' to her a bit. Angel then licks Mom's face and licks right up inside one or the other of Mom's nostrils. Mom keeps her lips pressed shut so the fuzz ball's tongue won't get into her mouth too. She (Mom) says you can't be depressed with an Angel's tongue up your nose. I wonder if she could be depressed woof a rottweilers tongue shoved up her nose? Only problem is, I don't think I could get my big tongue into that tiny hole in her nose. Arf, arf, arf.

The way I bounce around the house when I get excited, maybe Mom should look into one of these things.... popup blocker.

Tonight

Tonight Mom got all dressed up fancy and went out to Toastmasters, and she made me stay home. She said that it would be better for me than going along cuz it's so cold out and when she brought home a truckload of bricks recently, the spare tire got onto my blankets so it has be be rearranged in the back of the truck, in the canopy, before she thinks I'll be comfortable back there. I wanted to go anyway, but she made me stay home in the warm house.

A little after 10pm, Mom came home, but not to stay. A friend of hers drove her home in his little Smart Car cuz Mom locked her keys into her truck and her spare keys were in her purse inside her truck, so she had to come home and get her other spare keys to get into it. She put me outside then left to go back and get the truck. Then she went to her church to photo copy a couple important papers and came home to me finally. I was so happy to see her that it took me about 15 minutes to calm down and stop bouncing all over the place. Of course, having Angel and her dad, Don, arrive about the time I came in didn't help things cuz that excited me too. Mom was just about to kick me back outside cuz I was so hyper, but then Don held me woof both his hands on my head and talked to me until I stopped bouncing so much. Mom let me stay in then and we've had a good couple hours since then. Now it's time to go to bed cuz Mom's starting to fade, arf, arf.

If you like to shop online and you like to save money, I have something for you to look at. Macys coupons.

Mom's Dreams... almost a nightmare

On January 11, I told you about Mom's Dreams and some crazy stuff she'd been thinking about. How she wanted to sell our home to get money to invest in a big investment thingy. Anyway, this evening she found out that there was some really bad men involved in this and many people got all their money gone. It's a terrible story, and there are lots of good people that have lost their money. Mom feels very sad for them, she knows some of them, and she is also very relieved that she didn't rush into anything. There aren't enough words to tell of the trouble we would have been in if Mom had jumped into this right when she heard about it last September or October. Too scary to even think about. Mom says God helps us to be okay.

Life Stuff

As you all know, I love going to the dog park. Well, I haven't been there for a long time, so am getting really full of energy that I would like to wear off. Mom feels bad that we can't go walking there, but woof the snow and ice it's really hard for her to walk. Her back hurts real bad when she tries and she's so scared that she'll fall down and hurt herself. I hope spring gets here soon. Mom could take me for walks in town I guess, but I'd have to be on lead all the time. I couldn't run free and play woof other dogs, so it wouldn't really give me much exercise, it would mostly frustrate me to have to walk at the speed Mom walks, and on lead to boot. But I still love going for rides in the truck woof Mom. It's fun to ride in the back of the truck and to be real close to Mom. When she gets out to go somewhere, I watch where she goes and I watch and watch until she comes back. I don't like it when I can't be woof her or at least have her in my site. At the dog park I run off from Mom a lot, but I know it's safe there and I know I can run back real fast if Mom needs me.

Angel and I have been getting to be friends. It's weird being a Rottweiler and being friends with a ShitsWho, but it's going that way. Tonight we were playing and Mom & Don were laughing. Angel was running around barking and I'd jump at her and bark just enough to keep her going. She can run around here more than I can, cuz there's just not enough room in the house for me to play like that. But the other night I chased Shadow (Mom's cat) from the kitchen into the living room then back through the kitchen and down the hall into the bedroom. Mom was NOT impressed. She didn't see it as funny like I did.

If you need patches, or if you have patches, then maybe you would like some patch cables. Check out the site and see if you can use some of them.

Manic Monday

Invitations and Stuff

My ad for today, to earn me dog cookies and food, is supposed to be about communion invitations. Mom & I don't believe in communion, our spiritual beliefs are different and very wonderful in our experience. We know it's okay that other people believe in that though, and we do believe in parties that need invitations. This website has invitations for lots of different things, including Pet Party Invitations. We like that. We like holidays too and they have Holiday Invitations, and all kinds of other ones too. Take a look and maybe you'll see something that you like there.

Angel in My Home

I'm starting to really like the little ShitsHoo, Angel. I wish she was bigger so we could really run and play, but at least we're getting to know each other and to like each other. She's about 1 year old, and she's awful small compared to me, but she is still a dog... a dog that looks like a floor mop. She likes to run and play too, so we do a bit of that here in the house, then Mom & Angel's dad tell us to stop. Mom says I knock furniture over when I play in the house like this, and the little floor mop gets me going then runs and hides behind her dad, Don. They used to think she was scared of me, but the other night Mom was sitting in a different chair and so saw Angel start things. She looks at me then starts to dance and dart around, telling me with her actions "lets play", then I get going and she barks, then runs behind Don's legs like she's scared, but she isn't really. I think she was scared of me at first, but she knows better now. Now they come to our house every night and we're getting to know each other better.

Eye Glasses at Low Prices

Hey, look what I just found! I don't wear glasses, but Mom does, and the last pair she got was over $500. That was 3 years ago and she needs new ones again. She says maybe next year. Wait 'til I tell her about this place!!

Great Discovery: www.ZenniOptical.com

They sell lots of really nice frames with prescription lenses, and not just single vision, but all the special ones too: sunsensor (potochromic)lens, tinted suglasses lens, bifocal lens and progressive lens. The Secret to Zenni’s Low Prices is that they sell only their own manufactured frames direct to the customer, with no middlemen and virtually no advertising budget.

$ 8 Complete Prescription Eyeglasses + Case

If you need eye glasses, check this place out. As a dog I know nothing about how they fit the glasses to your eyes, but they must have a way. You can check that out too.

NOTE: This is not a sponsored ad, it is personal stuff. I did not/will not get paid any doggie cookies or anything else for writing it... I'm just really happy to see Mom coming back to life again.

Mom's Dreams

My Mom is thinking some real crazy thoughts. She wants to sell our home so she can invest the money is some fancy investment opportunity she heard about. She's real tired of being 'where she is in life' and wants to make some major changes. She thinks that if she did this she could become rich in only a few years, depending on how much she invests.

So where would we live? She's thinking about getting a motor home so we can live around here for part of the year and then drive to Arizona for part of the year. And when we're in Arizona, parked in the desert somewhere, she'd walk across the border into Mexico and get a bunch of stuff done to her teeth. She heard that dentists are really good there and don't cost very much compared to here.

Mom has lots of big dreams. Some make sense and some are a bit crazy. She'll wish and dream and likely still be living her long after I'm dead and buried in the 'Pet Cemetery' in what used to be the orchard right here on Mom's property. She so much wants to change her life, but she knows her family or origin wouldn't understand her doing something like this... and she knows it would be a big risk to sell our home and invest the money, cuz the home is a sure thing and investments aren't. She thinks this one is about a good and sure as they come, but knows there is no guarantee. Also, Mom lives on a disability income, and if she sells her home and doesn't spend all the money on buying a new home, they will cut her off her income until all the money is spent at a rate of speed that they determine to be good, not based on what Mom needs. So she knows it's crazy... and she knows it's likely the only way she will ever get to change her life, to become the person she'd like to be. So this is something real big.

Only time will tell what we end up doing, but in the meantime maybe it's good to dream like that. It might be fun, even if it is a bit scary, to drive all the way to Arizona in a motor home... must me, Mom, Shadow the cat, and the chinchillas. Mom knows she couldn't take all her critters with her, so would be willing to find new homes for the budgie birds and the rabbit, but doesn't want to leave the rest of us behind. She might have to find a sitter to take care of the chinchillas for the winter months when we're gone though. Anyway, it's time for the dog to go to sleep and do some dreaming of my own. Just wanted to share this with you as it's kinda hanging heavy on Mom's mind and I thought it might help her if I told you all about it. Any of you ever go camping in the Arizona desert?

Now, doggie cookie earning time:
As a dog, I don't have a clue what HDMI splitters are, but I know that lots of you hoomans do, and I think you might like to go check out these ones and see if you can use any of them.

Friday's Feast #19

Whoof!!! It's your dynamic doggy chef returned to create a culinary delight for you all to enjoy. Welcome to my last feast of 2007!

What is your middle name? Would you change any of your names if you could? If so, what would you like to be called?

Jane. I am 9 years old and only recently was given a middle name. Mom said I needed one cuz when I'm bad I need one... or somethin' like that. So now I'm Reba Jane Rottenweiler.

Soup
If you were a fashion designer, which fabrics, colors, and styles would you probably use the most?

Mostly leather.... and black with silver studs of all shapes and designs. But thinking of Angel, I think I'd design some dog coats too, leather with swede or fur trim, and for winter a warm lining that can zip out in spring when the weather is warmer. Then it would work as a warm winter coat and a rain coat for spring and fall.

Salad
What is your least favorite chore, and why?

Chore? What's a chore? Dogs don't do chores, silly.

Main Course
What is something that really frightens you, and can you trace it back to an event in your life?

Hey... I'm a rottweiler. Nothing frightens a rottweiler!! Well, except maybe being separated from Mom. I don't like letting my hooman Mom out of my site. My job in life is to be with her and look after her.

Dessert
Where are you sitting right now? Name 3 things you can see at this moment.

On the living room floor, beside Mom. 3 of the things I see are my Mom at her laptop, typing what I ask her to tell you (my paws don't work so good on that little keyboard); Angel (she's a ShitsWhoo cross that lives in our travel trailer); and Don (Angel's hooman Dad).

When was the last time you received a surprise in the mail, and what was it?

If I received anything in the mail at all it would be a surprise. It's nice that dogs don't get bills and such like that in the mail, but it would be nice to get a letter. No one writes letters to dogs. Bark!

Soup
If you could have a summer and/or winter home, where would you want it to be?

I would live anywhere that my Mom lives cuz we're a team.

Salad
Pick one: pineapple, orange, banana, apple, cherry.

Banana. I like bananas. I also like yams and sweet potatoes. Tonight I stole a chunk of each off the cupboard. Mom is tired of me steeling stuff off the counter, so she took steps to stop it. The other day she bought mouse traps. Tonight she put two of them on the counter, then put a dish cloth over them. Next time I tried steeling a piece of yummy yam SNAPPPP! They both scared the daylights out of me... and I didn't get my yam, but Angel was visiting and that little floor mop cleaned up the yam. Then Mom set it all again and after awhile I fell for the same trick. SNNNAAPPPPP! off they both went again, and the yam was still sitting on the counter. It's set again now to see if I fall for it again. It doesn't hurt me cuz Mom made sure they won't snap onto me, but wow it sure scares me. I might have to stop steeling from there if this keeps up.

Main Course
Describe the nicest piece of clothing that you own.

My collar. It's black leather, yup, real leather, and it has big silver things on it, some of them round and flat, and some pointy. Makes me look like a tough dog. Auntie Cyndi gave it to me. Oh, and my fur coat... I like my shiny black fur coat.

Dessert
If you could forget one whole day from your life, which day would you choose to wipe from your memory?

Any day that Mom isn't with me. Like when she's gone away for a holiday and left me behind. I'd like to forget any and all of those. I don't even like to eat when Mom's not here.
